HJH Teacher Contender in Regional Contest


One of our own has been  recognized as a finalist in the "Educator of the Year" contest hosted by the California League of Middle Schools.


Betsy Patridge, who teaches eighth-grade language arts at Hesperia Junior High, was nominated by her school principal, Lisa Kelly.


According to the Victor Valley Daily Press, "Kelly said Patridge has been “the rock” of the school for a long time and served as the teachers union chief negotiator for many years. Patridge has taught in Hesperia for 25 years."


Ranchero Teacher Honored by VFW


HTA member Tony Forcinl, who teaches eighth-grade English and language arts at Ranchero Middle School, was honored by the Hesperia VFW for his work in education. 


According to the Hesperia Star, the candidates chosen “have shown consistent excellence and dedication in the performance of their duties over a period of years with continuous growth in the responsibilities and skills within their progression.”

Krystal Teacher is a Published Author!


Amy Hernandez who teaches 4th grade at Krystal elementary had authored a children's book.


According to, the book is "The long anticipated re-animated apocalypse of children's literature, Jack and the Zombie Attack, a poetic tongue twister that follows Jack's dream of becoming a zombie through a rumpus in his neighborhood. When his dream becomes a reality, he begins to wonder if eating human flesh meat is all its cracked up to be. For ages 4 and up."
